31 Day Maritime Adventure - Itinerary
Day 1 |
St. Andrews, NB |
We begin our trek with a welcome dinner, orientation and social at the historic Fairmont Algonquin Hotel in St. Andrew by the Sea. We depart the next morning on our 2600 mile Maritime Adventure. |
Day 2 |
Moncton, NB |
Here we see the Hopewell Rocks Ocean Tidal Exploration Site. Walk on the ocean floor at low tide as you explore the Flowerpot Rocks. Visit the multi-media exhibit in the Interpretive Center. |
Day 3 |
Brackley Beach, PEI |
Travel over the Confederation Bridge (an engineering marvel) to Prince Edward Island. After you get settled in the campground we will visit Woodleigh Replicas & Gardens, a British Theme Park located in the heart of Burlington. Covering 45 acres of gorgeous countryside, Woodleigh is as beautiful as it is unique. See 30 replicas of the most spectacular castles and cathedrals of the British Isles, nestled among the rolling hills and gardens. |
Day 4 |

Today we depart on an all-day tour, "Land of Anne". View rolling farmlands, stunning seascapes, tiny villages and bustling harbors along the Blue Heron Drive as we get ready to tour the North Shore area. Brief photo stops at quaint little fishing villages, lighthouses and the world class Cavendish Beach. Tour on your own at Green Gables House - This old farm site inspired L.M. Montgomery's first novel, Anne of Green Gables, published in 1908. A must stop for a leisurely riverside lunch (not included) will be at Prince Edward Island Preserve Company, located in one of Canada's prettiest villages. Go back in time at L.M. Montgomery's Birthplace and explore special exhibits on display. Browse through the craft shops in the area before we drive on to French River, where you will enjoy a breathtaking combination of blue water, green rolling hills, and red soil-the perfect photo opportunity! Our final destination will be the Lake of Shining Waters that inspired L. M. Montgomery at Silver Bush and Green Gables Museum. In the evening, we will enjoy a lobster meal at the New Glasgow Lobster Supper restaurant. |

Free Day - use the day to relax or see some of the numerous local attractions in the Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island area. |
Day 6 |
Annapolis Royal, NS |
Take the Caribou-Wood Island Ferry to Pictou, Nova Scotia. From here we travel to Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia where we visit the Historical Gardens. |
Day 7 |

Today we visit the historic town of Annapolis Royal:
In the evening, prepare to be scared on the Candlelight Graveyard Tour. |
Day 8 |
Yarmouth, NS |
Travel Nova Scotia's picturesque eastern shore to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Along the way, stop for a plate of world famous Digby scallops.

Free Day - take in some of the local sights and enjoy the local fare. |
Day 10 |
Halifax, NS |
Travel along Nova Scotia's western shore to Halifax. Get settled in the campground and prepare for a few days of fun. |
Day 11 |
Halifax, NS |
Today we take the Deluxe Halifax City Tour where you will see many famous sites in Halifax including the Titanic Graveyard, site of the 1917 harbor explosion, the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site to name a few stops. We continue our exploration of Halifax with a visit to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and end the day with a cruise on the Halifax Harbor aboard the Tall Ship Silva. |

Board the bus for an all-day tour of Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg.

Day 14 |
Baddeck, New Breton Island, NS |
Travel to New Breton Island along the shores of the island's beautiful inland sea - the Bras D'Or Lakes. After you get settled in the campground, we visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site where you will learn of his many inventions including the hydrofoil. |
Day 15 |

Board the bus for an all day tour traveling the length of the Cabot Trail. Named for famous explorer John Cabot, the Cabot Trail winds around the rocky splendor of Cape Breton's northern shore, ascending to the incredible plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. This magnificent highway is carved to the sides of mountains that rise high above the shimmering waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Lookoffs offer unforgettable vistas of Cape Breton's rugged coastline, where pods of whales can often be seen just offshore and bald eagles soar aloft on the ocean breezes. |

North Sydney, NS |
Get settled into the campground for some needed rest because we leave for Newfoundland the next day. |
Day 17 |
Codroy, NL |
We line-up early at the ferry terminal for our 7 hour crossing of the Cabot Strait to Newfoundland. On board watch for whale, enjoy lunch in the cafeteria, a drink in the lounge, watch a movie or just relax with a good book. After we arrive in Port aux Basque, Newfoundland, we travel north to the campground in Codroy for some much needed rest. |
Day 18 |
Rocky Harbor, NL |
Located in scenic Gros Morne National Park, Rocky Harbor is a picturesque coastal village. Be sure to stock up on seafood at the wharf. |
Day 19 |
Rocky Harbor, NL |
Free day - explore Gros Morne National Park. In the evening we travel to Cow's Head to the Gros Morne Theater and Dinner Show for an evening of fun and entertainment. |
Day 20 |
St. Barbe, NL |
Travel Newfoundland's western shore, winding your way among the numerous and photogenic fishing villages to St. Barbe. Here we park our RVs in a secure camping area while we journey to Labrador. We have a full day of activities tomorrow. |
Day 21 |
L'Anse au Clair, Labrador | We board the early run of the MS Apollo Ferry for the 2 hour crossing of the Strait of Belle Isle to Labrador. When we arrive in Blanc-Sablon/L'Anse au Clair, a bus will pick us up for a full day of activities.

Travel to St. Anthony, known for its rich fishing history. |
Day 23 |

Today we travel to L'Anse aux Meadows where we will see a Viking settlement; the earliest know settlement in the New World. We will also visit a recreation of Viking life; The Norstead Historical Presentation with a recreation of a Viking Village staffed by helpful guides in period costumes. |

Free Day - continue exploring the local area. |
Day 25 |
Port aux Choix, NL |
Travel to beautiful Port aux Choix. Here we visit the Port aux Choix National Historic Site - Archaic Indian Site. - The remains of four ancient cultures have been found at Port au Choix to date: Maritime Archaic Indian, Dorset and Groswater Paleoeskimo, and Recent Indians. Archaeologists searched many years for a site such as this one, which sheds new light on our understanding of native peoples in this part of the world. |

Again we stop here for some much needed rest before we depart on the ferry for Nova Scotia tomorrow morning. |
Day 27 |
Louisbourg, NS |
Again we take the ferry back to Nova Scotia where we disembark and travel to the campground in Louisbourg. |

Fortress of Louisbourg - Step back in time to 1744. Experience Louisbourg, a thriving seaport and capital of Ile Royale (Cape Breton Island). The Fortress was one of the busiest harbors in North America during the 18th Century and one of France's key economic and military centers in the New World. Today it stands as North America's largest historical reconstruction. |

Again, travel along Cape Bretons inland sea, Bras D'Or Lakes. This time traveling the eastern shores. |
Day 31 |
Saint John, NB |
Travel to St. John, New Brunswick. Here we take a bus tour where we learn about this historic town and see the famous reversing falls. In the evening, we enjoy a farewell dinner where it is time to say goodbye to your many new friends. |
